An exceptional day on the Route des Grands Crus

Morning – The Côte de Nuits

The morning takes you to the heart of the Côte de Nuits, the kingdom of Pinot Noir and home to some of the greatest red wines in the world. Along the way, you discover iconic villages such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and Vosne-Romanée.

Your guide helps you understand the personality of each terroir, the history of its climats, and the reasons these parcels rank among the most prestigious in Burgundy. A private cellar visit and a first tasting give you a hands-on introduction to the world of great Burgundy reds.

Lunch – An estate experience

Lunch is designed as a moment of sharing and immersion, with a table chosen for the quality of its welcome, local produce, and food-and-wine pairings. Depending on the chosen program, this moment may take the form of lunch with the winemaker or a guest table in a privileged setting in the heart of the vineyards.

Afternoon – The Côte de Beaune

The afternoon continues south on the Côte de Beaune, birthplace of Burgundy’s greatest white wines. You pass through legendary villages and terroirs such as Corton, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chassagne-Montrachet.

Premier Cru and Grand Cru wine tour in Burgundy: an immersion into the elite of winemaking

A Premier Cru and Grand Cru wine tour in Burgundy lets you discover the region through its most prestigious offerings. For lovers of fine wines, this experience is one of the most complete ways to understand the unique hierarchy of Burgundy's vineyards and the concept of terroir in its fullest expression.

Burgundy stands apart from other major wine regions thanks to its parcel-based classification system. Here, it is not only the estate that gives a wine its reputation, but above all the climat, meaning the precisely delimited parcel where the vines are grown. This approach, shaped over the centuries, has created a highly precise hierarchy in which Premier Crus and Grand Crus occupy the highest levels.

Premier Crus and Grand Crus: the excellence of Burgundy terroir

Premier Crus already represent a selection of exceptional terroirs. They produce wines of great precision, capable of expressing the personality of a village or hillside with remarkable clarity. Grand Crus, even rarer, correspond to the most prestigious parcels in Burgundy. They yield wines of remarkable depth, often sought after worldwide for their complexity, longevity, and almost mythical status.

A private tour dedicated to these appellation levels makes it easier to understand what truly sets these wines apart. Rather than limiting itself to a simple tasting, the experience connects landscape, geology, exposure, history, and wine style. It gives visitors the keys to perceive the difference between neighboring terroirs, sometimes only a few dozen meters apart.

The Route des Grands Crus: Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune

This immersion takes on its full meaning along the Route des Grands Crus, between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The Côte de Nuits is renowned for its Pinot Noir reds, with iconic villages such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and Vosne-Romanée. The Côte de Beaune, meanwhile, is world-famous for its great Chardonnay whites, notably in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chassagne-Montrachet. Bringing these two territories together in a single day offers a particularly rich perspective on Burgundy's excellence.

Expert guidance for an exceptional region

The appeal of a high-end wine tour in Burgundy also lies in the quality of the guidance. An expert guide's insight makes a region known for its complexity more accessible. The notions of climat, vintage, ageing, and appellation hierarchy become more concrete when explained directly in the vineyards and then illustrated in the glass.

This type of experience appeals as much to enthusiasts as to collectors or travelers seeking a rare moment. Beyond the tastings, it is about experiencing Burgundy at its most precious: its landscapes, estates, traditions, and almost sacred relationship with the land. A Premier Cru & Grand Cru tour is thus a privileged gateway to the very best of Burgundy's vineyards.
